White Whale Resighted

Foggy but fabulous trips with 7 lunge feeding humpbacks, 2 minke whales, 6 white beaked dolphins, puffins, gannets, guillemots and murres. Check out these photos from the last couple of days. We were lucky enough to see the white tailed whale once again from a a different angle. It is clear from these shots that there are marks from an entanglement on the tail stock and that the whale is sloughing off this dead tissue. It’s looking pretty rough.

  1. It looks pretty serious — thanks for sharing the images, to help remind us that the citizen science of whale watching is just as important as the thrill.
